The
Cozy Critter began in 2002 with one dog and one crazy idea to make
dog collars! Over 8 years later, here we are! We are Jim and Melissa....
the owners, operators, shippers, seamstresses, web designers, and
dreamers for The Cozy Critter! We are very lucky to have a business
that we truly LOVE! Dog lovers are some of the sweetest, friendliest,
and funniest people in the world.. and we are blessed to do business
with these great people every single day! Our lives are filled with
fun letters from dogs, adorable pictures from happy customers, and
a product that makes us very proud! We are continually interacting
with our customers to make new products and search out unique fabrics!

| Jim's
daughter Becca has been a huge help for The Cozy Critter! From snipping
threads to putting buckles together, Becca has done her fair share
of hard labor around the Cozy Critter home! As she begins college
next year, we can only hope that she will join the family business
sometime in the future! ;-) We love you, Becca-Boo!! |

Rossie was the dog that started it all and our faithful companion for 14 years!
Having joined our family in 1996 as
a 3 month-old stray puppy, Rossie was the smartest, sweetest, most
loyal dog.
He was a golden retriever/ridgeback cross and loved nothing more than
chasing birds. If you so much as say a word that even rhymes with
'bird' he will jump up in a frenzy to 'get the birds!' |

When Rossie turned 12, we debated as to whether to adopt another dog while Rossie was still with us, or if we should wait. After some discussion we thought it was time to add to our Cozy Critter clan, and we adopted Duii (pronounced 'Dewey'). We thought this would give Duii the opportunity to learn the ropes from the most perfect dog in the world (yep - in all of the world! ;-) While we were thrilled to bring home a new puppy, Rossie was not happy at all. He wanted nothing to do with this new little white furball and would walk away from him whenever Duii tried to play. As Duii grew, so did Rossie's tolerance and they soon become best buds. They shared their lives together for the first 2 years of Duii's life until Rossie passed in October 2009. |

When Rossie passed away, Duii had a very rough time as the only dog in the house. We would take him with us EVERYWHERE so that he could ride in the truck and be around people, but he would whimper the entire time he was in the truck and when we returned home, he would run around searching for Rossie. We tried everything (lots of excercise, frequent doggie play-dates, etc.) and after about 4 months, we decided that this poor dog was just not meant to be alone. Enter, Mr. Wilson. He's very lucky he's cute, because he is definitely not the sharpest tool in the drawer! His silly antics have kept us constantly amused as he has grown into a well behaved member of our family. And best of all, he is the perfect brother to Duii, as they never let each other out of their sights! At night, each of the boys have their own crates in our bedroom and often times they try to cram together in one crate! It's quite the sight to see!

| Sophie was adopted from the local shelter in 2009. She has more personality that any cat we have ever known! She follows us around and won't hesitate to let you know if she needs something. She is quite vocal and does not like to be ignored! So we gladly cater to her every whim.... lucky for us she sleeps 20 hours a day, so it's not too much work! |
